"Goldberg" is the scene of a photographic search for the hidden parts of one's own origins. The topography and symbolism of a small town in Lower Silesia is sensitively probed, a town which bears the wounds of its own, as well as collective uprooting. Goldberg, now Złotoryja, bears the wounds of displacement and resettlement that forced the rewriting of countless family histories more than 50 years ago. Cryptic landscape shots and confrontational portraits take us into a dreamlike, mysterious world of images, in which what we are looking for is hinted at again and again, but can never quite be found.
